Goodbye Giant Sculpture

So Friday January 21, 2011, I completed the sale on my giant sculpture and said goodbye to my property and home of 5 1/2 years.  It was a bitter sweet experience as I walked around my empty home and took my final film to wrap up the experience.  I will let the film speak for itself here:  (it is about 10 minutes long – sorry)

Goodbye 1765

So now I no longer have to worry about that property.  I went by to welcome the new owners, Ted and Alice, and they are very happy there and that is what matters.  I wanted individuals who would love the house and property as much as I did and I was so lucky they came and found my house.  I am excited to see how they put their personality and mark on the place.

As I walked around the empty house, I thought about all the things that happened in my life over the last 5 and a half years.  To sum it up swiftly I built the house, experienced two relationships, was crushed by a log, acted in a couple of films, did a tonne of project work, worked for Vancouver Island University, saw the passing of a dog, made lots of new friends, traveled to Greece, Great Britain, California, Nevada, and co-authored a book.  No complaints here.

So now, after a brief house sitting stint, my living situation is simplified to just one domicile.  This will certainly facilitate me getting ready for my big trip.  Yet still there is lots to do.

So onwards and upwards.  End of one era, the beginning of another.
