It is the conversation that goes on in the background of your mind unchecked. It is that conversation with yourself or some etherial entity that can work for you or against you. Can you hear what it is saying? Can you hear the statements that are the loudest and most persistent? Are they positive about you or negative? Do you believe what they say? Are they self-fulfilling prophecies?

Giant willows, abundant throughout New Zealand, protect the children's playground from the damaging sun's rays.
I can hear mine. The loudest ones for the most part. It is amazing how they go on persistently all day long in the background doggetly trying to get my attention. Depending on my level of self-esteem any given day, they can be good or bad. As I listen to them I think, “I really should change that tape reel, it really has become boring.” And then I wonder if I don’t change it in time, do they become truths? Where did these beliefs come from? Annoying little voices, go away.
“Ha ha … there you are!” I say to my inner adversary. “Stop it!”
Did you see the Bob Newhart youtube? Here is the link … have fun.

I love that Bob Newhar skit. I have shown that to many. I miss Bob Newhart. They broke the mold after him.
I guess you are alone a great deal of the time – consequently your mind talks to you. I think it is a good thing – can motivate you to change if it is telling you unpleasant truths. Mine is constantly telling me all the things I am doing wrong –
I do try to change them but not always successful!!
The horse does look mighty stiff.
I think it takes mindfulness and persistence to change them. Not the good ones though.
Loved Jill’s reply – stop it!!!
… or I’ll bury you alive in a box!
