Taieri Gorge Train – A Blast From The Past

Hanging on the Train in the gorge

I am in heaven.  (It is only frustrating trying to write and see the sights at the same time).  I love old trains.  I love their sound.  I loove the scenery.  I love pretending it`s another time and this is the first time I`ve seen it.  Well it is.  But a time without electricity perhaps.

The gorge and on the upper left you can see the cut away of the train track

The Gorge is spectacular.  The train is not fast, it is from yesteryear.  It is wooden, with wooden paneling inside.  We travel through and ancient world, a step into the past, when life might have been harder, but simpler.  Life was about food, shelter, clothing, NOT about consumption.

One amazing view after another.  My eyes, brain and memory wants to drink it all in, to be able to keep experiencing it like it is this first time.  Mother Nature`s heaven.  Simply beautiful.  Thanks to you Mother Nature and man`s ingenuity to let me experience it.

Chillin'

I feel like a child in awe & wonder.  How lucky am I.  How precious is this experience.  Everyone on the train roams to look.  No one fears safety or protection of their things.  It is good.  It is mankind as it should be.
