So Back To Camping ….

James tries to remember how to use his video camera as Jacqui and Karen chide him

What a great group of people I met while camping.  We were certainly all well matched giggling and generally being silly.  I think towards the end of the first night, Kelli did some pretty creative gymnast moves from her chair to the ground.

Protected from the constant wind, Karen, Jacqui and Carolea chill with a beverage or two!

James well represented the male of the species by cooking me two amazing dinners and also standing up to all the ‘hen pecking’ he endured from us six females, which only got more risque as the weekend passed.  So our final night started getting a little more creative as the night wore on.

Yup - Carolea and I show our best!

Sadly we could not have a campfire, which saddened James since he wanted to cook a lamb roast.  So we satisfied our urge to burn with a little foil muffin dish, a votive candle and diligently feeding it with twigs and coconut husks.  Everyone still awake decided to end the night down on the beach staring at the stars.  I have  been quite amazed by the sky in the southern hemisphere.  We in the north don’t get to see the southern cross.  And Orion is upside down.  Although I think most of the drinks we brought down with us ended up spilled.

Karen vamps it up for the camera

I was so honoured to be so readily and easily embraced by these new friends.  Each and every person made the weekend such a blast and totally shared in my humour and oddities. Ideally I should have written about it right away to catch fresh all the funny things that happened.  Oh well, the sentiment sits in my memory.  Too bad I won’t be around for their next camping experience as you just can’t beat good company and hanging out with what Mother Nature provides.

Nice tongues guys
