Left KL at the ridiculous hour of 3:35 am. First the plane was to fly to Doha, Qatar and then on to Kenya. The first plane was a little tight but I managed to get two seats to myself and slept restlessly. I was one of the few white people on the plane. When we got to Doha I had to use the bathroom and I don’t know what it is with people from these Arab and Asian countries but the concept of a line up doesn’t exist. There I was standing for the washroom next in line and a woman, who looked from her dress to be from Pakistan or something similar, just ploughs right by me and walks into the cubicle.
Well needless to say, I was a little gobsmacked. And she wasn’t the only one to do that. It’s like, what, I am just in a line and standing politely for my entertainment? What’s wrong with you people? Didn’t you learn manners? And should this not be universal behaviour, to be considerate, regardless of your culture or religion. Grrrr…. Needless to say I was not impressed. But I made sure the next cubicle was mine. I am in general bigger than most people in this part of the world. Us Canadians sometimes are too polite.
Anyway, to make up for that discomfort, I had a whole row of three seats to myself for the next leg and managed to get some shut eye. Dickson and Kate, contacts I have made through my friend Len Vanderstar from up in Smithers, picked me up at the airport and took me to my hotel where I basically slept and refreshed for the next day where we were scheduled to go to Migwani where the orphanage that is supported by Child Focus Africa, is located.
Have a wonderful time in Kenya! As you’ve experienced already, the people are heart-warming, and the sights are amazing. The elephants and giraffs will likely capture your heart as well.
Excuses, Adorable Lady, and you are most certainly that!
You did want a transgessive experience, and that is mostly what you are hellbent upon acheiving here
Commentary beats judgement every time (fact over opinion) and, all things being equal you will determine the distinction on your Oddysseyy.
Typo accidental ……….sort of! Gotta have fun, after all!

PS Australia is your Oyster!
Yes – Australia keeps coming back to me in my mind. The challenge is what I can do there to get a work visa. Could be difficult at my age! I agree about the commentary over judgment – sometimes in frustration and fatique though my judgment will rear its ugly head.
