Moving on … Sadly Leaving Kotor

Another chillin' day in Kotor - love this place

My last day in Kotor.  Well actually right now is my last day and this was yesterday.  But I am heading to Dubrovnik today and am just now waiting for my bus.  So I am enjoying a cappucino and a sweet pancake at the restaurant just outside of my hostel – The Piazza – which I highly recommend if you come here.  Cheap and good food and great location.   But back to yesterday – my last full day in Kotor.

Steve is in the zone of his music melody

Steve, my new Aussie friend, and I spent the bulk of the day at the beach.  Steve decided to extend his stay another day (and actually as of today, yet another day) as he was enjoying the atmosphere of this place so much as I was too.  I had to laugh because each day he decided to extend his stay I was saying how that’s what I like to do as opposed to some people you meet travelling who try to hit as many locales as possible.  To me that is being a tourist.  A traveller mellows a bit more and stays longer in places to experience them better.

These young local boys kept wanting me to take their pictures as they entertained me with their diving acrobatics.

Last night I was saying to the gang I was hanging out with, new friends from England, Portugal, Canada, and locally, that there are two types of travellers: tourists and travellers.  Of course I was corrected that my very statement meant that tourists are travellers since I categorized them as such.  So I had to come up with another word, so I will say there are two types of visitors.  So as such, Steve and I decided, as travellers, to chill for the day at the “beach”.  It really isn’t a beach as most expect but it is better because it is not crowded with tourists and the local young boys were having a blast having me take pictures of them diving off the little pier.

A young boy struts his stuff.

We also had the silly enjoyment of feeding these local pigeous who were incredibly brave wanting to come up to us.  I have taken a little video of one taking a chip out of my toes.

Pigeon and my toes

But anyway, between the local acrobats, the water, the sun, the pigeons and the gales of laughter, oh yes and a couple of beers, it was a great day which only got further topped off by a fish dinner and then an impromptu get together with a bunch of people from the hostel and a visitor from Budva – Nuno.  I will just call him “No-no”.  Just toying with ya Nuno.  He kept me laughing.  We all went to a bar after sitting at the restaurant just outside of the hostel and carried on our silliness.  I have included some pictures that were taken on Nuno’s camera.

Me, being, well, me and Nuno. A great night no doubt. I got to hang out with all these guys!

Makin' that face on purpose - or was I about to explode - what can I say, I had an urge to be upside down!

What a great last night.  Sad to leave, but must move on.
