What is so nice about seeing old classmates, or should I say perpetually young classmates that I have known for a long time, is it is so great to see what we have all become as adults. I love each story and every accomplishment. I love that we still relate to each other and enjoy each other’s company. I love that we are still open minded enough to put any silliness that may have occurred in our school days to the side and just enjoy what we have become as adults. I always like contacting with all my friends I have known.
There is that saying that some friends are geographical, some friends are seasonal, and some friends are forever. The forever friends you may not get to see very often but the ability to have that friendship persists. So when you are in the area they are great to get together with.
I also believe that friendship is a two way street and its the friends who make as much effort to contact and see you as you do towards them that persist.

An older picture of another classmate of mine who I continue to connect with - Hannah, the great gardener!
So in saying all that, Ines, my number one fan of this blog and old classmate, and Jane, another classmate from the days of Saint Mildred’s, got together for a late lunch in the spectacular city of Toronto. I have not seen Jane since I held my class’ 20 year reunion in 2005. Ines and I just recently got together. Ines is largely to thank for this get together as she organized it. We all look spectacularly fantastic if you ask me. Jane and I always were side by side with our lockers at school because of our last names. So we had our own special relationship … and no, there are no innuendos intended there! Mind out of the gutter people.
I admire Jane because she has lived in many countries around the world and can speak 5 languages. She and I also share a lot in common too, height, red hair, ex-swimming maniacs … and the love for culture and travel.
So a fair bit of reminiscing, laughter and good times only enforces and continues to fill my efforts to see all of my old friends now that I am back in Ontario. At least for the time being.
I may have organized our get together, but I cannot take credit for both of you showing up, so thanks for taking the time out from your busy schedules…..it was great seeing both of you. 🙂
Thanks, Sara for including these amazing pictures from our get together in your Discovery Blog.
Here is a quote which conveys a sentiment about “old” friends:
“Eventhough we’ve all changed and we’re all finding our own place in this crazy world, we all know that when the tears fall or a smile spreads across our face,
we’ll come to each other, because no matter where this journey called life takes us, nothing will ever change so much that we’re not all still good friends.” Authour unknown
Thanks Ines
It was a fantastic afternoon. Not only did we laugh at old memories, but we made created some new ones. Sara, I’ll always think of you as one of the bright lights in our class, and beyond, and don’t let anyone lead you to believe otherwise. Thanks again Ines for putting it all together! I’m glad we’ve kept in touch.
Thanks Jane, that is sweet. A bright light and a little goofy I might add. I embrace the goofiness! Will see you soon.
