Heading out from Bridlington

The adorable Monica

So another great visit with my cousin Pam.  We find more and more about each other in common certainly given that we’re related but also due to the upbringing of both of our Father’s who were brothers.  Her two children, Callum and Elle are growing up to be pretty great people.  And of course Steve, who I still swear, reminds me of Colin Firth, is always the consummate gentleman and makes me laugh.

Brian and his ice cream truck show up to bring ice cream straight to Pam for a little gift.

I love their house here as it is to me the perfect size.  Not too big and with lots of doors to shut off areas and make it more energy efficient.  Like me, every time I visit Pam has shifted around the furniture and the decor.  I do that too.   I like a constant change of environment.  I can’t imagine keeping furniture in the same place indefinitely living in one location.

Two exhausted people chill on the couch after a very busy weekend. We aren't young spring chickens anymore.

Pam and I had a great dinner last night – at the Revelstoke Inn.  We took advantage of the carvery and bottle of wine coupon that I bought at the silent auction on Friday for only 10 pounds.  There was so much food.  And I didn’t eat all day to be ready and still could only eat so much.  I also ended up buying a really cool photo of a wave splashing over the Bridlington pier.  Of course, now I have a 2 by 1.5 foot framed photo to cart around.  I figure I will take it up to Edinburgh today and leave it for my Mum to either take home or send home.  Or might just send it home.  I wanted to support the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation by buying it, but perhaps not the most practical for travelling.  :o).

So onto Edinburgh today.  A great weekend in Bridlington and I will just come back again.
