My new found friend, Luisa. We are like two peas from the same pod. It has been great having her to hang out with during my time here in London. Coming back to London Central and staying near Victoria Station (which I will have you know is a zoo) was a little disarming at first but I was able to get together with Luisa the next day for lunch and a little shopping.
We met near Bond Street and the sun was shining so we decided to relax at the Cafe Rouge for some lunch, sun and a glass of wine. Ironically, once we sat down, to our side sat another woman a little older than us, on her own. Well we all got to talking and none of us had children, all of us worked, Luisa and she both were only children, and we had a lot of similar views and feelings about things – obviously having made the same choices in life. It was quite fun and ironic to have all three of us sitting there at once with such similar choices and scenarios.
After lunch Luisa and I wandered through Soho and Convent Garden before heading through St. James Park and past Buckingham Palace to Victoria Station again. The day was absolutely glorious and Londoners were out in droves drinking up the rays and the warmth knowing that it would not last.
I have been enjoying London so much. There are times it can drive me crazy, but for the most part it is such a large eclectic city with so many different things to see and do, and not to mention the history. Ah, decisions, decisions, decisions.
Ahhh…..the English springtime is so lovely. I love the blue sky and those flowers….
London is such a fascinating city. By the way, how many times have you visited it?
I cannot believe that you did not get a picture of you in that red phone booth! I thought that those are disappearing slowly…..did you know that in Germany the phone booths are yellow?
You mentioned shopping, so I have just one question: did YOU buy anything???
Mmmm, I have been to London only about 3 times now. I did buy a t-shirt but that was it. No point if you have to lug it around.
