Religion abandoned ...
Yeehaw. My first adventure away from Casa Maravilhas. Not that I am not enjoying my time house sitting as I am, however, taking some side trips and meeting up with friends will certainly make the 5 months a lot more fun. So this is my first excursion and I am going to Faro.

I have not been in Faro since 1985 and I don’t remember it much at all. At that time I was meeting up with my Aunts and Uncles in Albufeiro. That definitely make sense if you are looking for good beaches. Faro has some interesting history but it is really mudflats when it comes to beaches. You need to go west to get to the better beaching areas.

Given that it is a bit early in the season – it is only just scheduled to get in the 20s, beaches are not our focal point for this visit. My friend and I are just meeting up here and hanging out for a day and then heading up to Vale de Santiago before he has to go off to Lisbon. I might go up to Lisbon and hang out for the weekend as I have never been there. So stay tuned. I will be posting.
