Cycling into Luxembourg

Dedicated bike path heading towards Luxembourg city

My stead taking me to Luxembourg - my bike silly - well actually Jose's bike

Jose and Brenda live in a residential subdivision about 10 km from the city.  Capellen is the name of the suburb.  It is funny actually.  If you look on a map, you can see that so much of Luxembourg (92%) is farm or forest and in the middle of these areas they have just cut out areas for suburbs.  Patches here and there are all connected via these cross country bike routes.

Hmmm, just came from Capellen - 2.6 km - heading to Luxembourg - 8.8 km - better get motoring

My friends along the route - Mmmmmmooo

So since I prefer not having to drive and/or take transportation when I am out and about, plus the opportunity to exercise, I decided to cycle into Luxembourg city.  And it is a great bike ride through farm and field and little towns.  It is like your own little bike highway.

Loves it baby - bikes only - keep your motorized vehicles out! How pastoral too.

Getting closer - what a beautiful path alongside the highway.

Much of the route is on dedicated bike roads and then some of it shares the road with vehicles.  It was a great way to get into the city and very picturesque.  I don’t understand why all over the world bike routes as such are not standard fair as part of infrastructure development.
