Mum stands before Vonik and Christian's house
I felt quite badly dragging my Mother on that long walk to the lake and back the one day. So we took it easy and went to the weekly market in Bergerac on Saturday. Mum loved that. Like a child in a candy store. Just wanting to buy everything in sight.

The market is great too, because they have it here in Bergerac every Wednesday and Saturday and it is replete with fresh fruit and vegetables of all varieties grown locally, sausages, meats, eggs, bread, etc… all locally grown and made. This is a basket of abundance this area. Beautiful.

Top that off with some clothing and jewelry booths and you have a smorgasbord of goodies for someone like Mum, who personifies “I shop therefore I am.” Anyway, it was another hot sweltering day so we had a lovely lunch and trundled home to relax in Gigi’s beautiful cool house before heading to the African festival in Lembras for a look around before needing to head back to catch Djokovic play in the semi-finals for the US Tennis Open – we couldn’t miss that as we needed to know who Andy Murray would be playing in the final. After the first set the game was postponed due to weather. Argh!

The next day we had to clean up at Gigi’s as we were moving to Dominique’s house abut 6 km out of Bergerac in the country near Lembras. A lovely couple, Vonik and Christian, had invited us to drop by there beautiful property for lunch. I have posted about their place before. A large 6 acre spread.

Another hot day as it was, after a delightful lunch, Vonik suggested we head down to the pool to cool off. And that is exactly what we did. No long treks to the park for this treat. It was perfect and once again Mum enjoyed the experience.

After that, I met up with Gigi to return the house keys. Mum stayed at Dominique’s to watch the rest of Djokovic’s semi-final to find out if he and Andy Murray would be meeting up for the final. Another exciting game. So the next day … Murray and Djokovic face each other.

So to top off a perfect weekend with Mum, we went for an amazing dinner at a place called Flambe. Life really can’t get much better.
