Leaving Lux Heading Back to Bergerac

Jose, Brenda and the boys - the morning I leave

Finally after a week and a half, I left the incredible hospitality of Jose’s and Brenda’s and even got to spend the evening with their two boys, Xavier and Benjamin and they were great.  I really enjoyed my stay and hanging out with Tibi.

Bye Tibi

So with a “I’ll be sure to come back and visit” it was time to move onto to my next two house sits.  This time back to Bergerac.  I was able to stay with my friend Luisa for the first two nights and then to Gigi’s.  Gigi is originally from Montreal so speaks English which is helpful, but it is great here in Bergerac because I do get to practice my French a lot.

Gigi’s partner Mark owns a restaurant called Moutarde.  He is the chef.  So I was so lucky as to have his fine cooking whilst I was here before they left.  As Gigi says, it is always important to make sure your man is a good cook.  And to that I have to agree.

So Mark and Gigi left on Saturday for the Pyrenees and I have been taking charge of their two very fun and interesting dogs, Lydo and Uggy.  They are both Jack Russells and Lydo suffers a bit from OCD when it comes to him and his ball.  Really, you  have never seen anything like it.   He can play with it forever and will just sit and focus on it forever waiting for someone to kick it.  And if he doesn’t have it because you have put it away, he will obsess about it and do nothing else.  Very interesting.  Uggy is just a really affectionate dog.

So a couple of days ago Mum arrived for a visit.  She has not been in France for over 60 years.  But we will post about that next.  In the meantime, Gigi’s and Mark’s house is this exceptionally beautiful home right in town.  It is a model for the type of home I would want in the future.  Perfect in size and layout.  And Gigi is an incredible artist with her paintings and flair for interior design, I just  love it.  So thanks for the opportunity to house sit.
