Really no excuse, just got out of the habit. And now that I am doing some work everyday, just lost a bit of incentive and drive. But I am back and I am here.
Back now for a week in jolly ol’ Britain. It has been colder. Even frost on the cars. But it has been good. Valerie organized a lovely mince meat making afternoon soiree. It was a lovely idea. We even read about the history of mince meat. And the mince meat pies were just yummy.
That then blended into a busy week of work and socializing. The most I have done in awhile. Been loving it. Went to see a live band in Poole. Second Nature I think was their name and the female lead singer certainly could belt out a tune. I was taken to see them by my new friend Adrian. He makes me laugh and laugh – to tears actually.
But I am starting to feel a bit more settled here. Even though I have a house sit up in London for 5 weeks, it feels like right now, it would make the most sense to consider finding a flat in this Bournemouth area. As my friend Val has said, I have started building a network and such and to have to start all over again … well the thought can be exhausting, even though I am used to it. Not that I have ever stayed anywhere for longer than 6 or 7 years. But I do like this area of southern England.
The Jurassic Coast is spectacular, the beaches are sandy, there is a big urban centre so more work opportunities, and because of the University, there is a young population. Brighton would have been nice too, but I don’t know anyone there. It is just the reference from Pride and Prejudice that always made Brighton appeal to me.
However, regardless, because of my current situation, I can’t really consider renting until March 1st anyway, so I still have some time to think.

Curtained bunk beds in my hostel in London - the best idea I have ever seen and wonder why all hostels don't do this to their bunk bed dorms. Great place to stay.
In anycase, just a quick post, another to come from my lovely sunny Sunday.
Stay tuned.
Glad you decided to post again……
Regarding Brighton, you mention “Pride and Prejudice”, but don’t forget Graham Greene’s novel “Brighton Rock”.
Seeing that you’re interested in architecture and specifically churches, St Nicholas Church should be a huge draw for you.
Personally, when I think of Brighton, the first thing that comes to mind is the Royal Pavilion. 🙂
Maybe you’d still consider settling down in vibrant Brighton……
As always, I have one question for you: where did you find that armour?
Well you know me, it is hard to know exactly what the plan is until it happens. The armoury was in the hostel that I stayed at. Pretty cool.
Welcome back Sara’s posts!!!
I feel very close to your actual situation…me too I cannot think about settle somewhere until march!
Seriously thinking about visiting you in january after the 10th!
bisous
I’m back. Don’t you just love these times of transition – not knowing exactly where you are going but having a vague sense of direction … can be exhilarating if you let it … only fear makes it frightful!
