Definitive Knowledge?

I'm just a babe in arms .... what do I know?

So I have to fill out this form for Canada telling them when I have left the country for tax purposes.  They ask a  myriad of questions all seemingly based on the belief that I know my definitive future.

Where ever my feet may take me ...

How long will you be gone from Canada?  Have you left permanently or do you intend to return?  Will you come back for any visits?  Frequently? Once a year? For a long period or short period?  Are you leaving personal belongings in the country?  Will you still have a bank account in Canada and if so why?

Hey maybe this guy knows the answers??? 😛

Really.  All these questions.  For the last two years I have not known much more as to what was happening in my life further ahead than about 3 months and they want me to give such definitive answers?  Why is there not questions such as “For the foreseeable future are you going to be living outside of Canada?”  That I can answer.  Yes.

It is all done for tax purposes so that they can decide as to whether they can tax you and whether the country you will be living in can tax you too.  So I guess you just have to put down what you think they want to hear.  But I don’t even know that.  Why must government make our lives so complicated? All so that they can figure out how much money they can take from you if any at all.  Geeze.  Well luckily I don’t need to fill it out just yet, so I guess I can let the future unfold for the moment.
